IE 6 manual update?

There used to be a way to download updates manually. This seems to be
now impossible. Or is there a workaround? What about torrent sites?
Can people post the files there? Will they work if they do? I really
don't want to connect an unupdated, vulnerable computer to the internet
before I have the update ...

Msxml3.dll unregistered

Since installing the Windows auto updates on 8/14, I cannot open my
application QuickBooks 2007 Premier. I get an error message that references

updating security downloads for 2000 pro

when i try to download updates i get an error message. out of sync with an
update certificate. error number, 0x800072F8F. i tried the recommendations to
resolve with no luck. any help would be welcome.

IE unable to connect to Internet

We are running Windows 2000 Server with IE 6 SP1.

Update stays stuck

Update stays stuck at checking for the latest updates. Its been there for
about an hour now.
How long should that take, can you force it to go to next step? I suspect
not. So what can I do to get updates?

Windows SP4 upgrade - 'inspecting' phase should take how long?

Trying to install SP4 for Windows 2000 Server from MS Web site. The Windows
update does not work (IE 6 will not load except in safe mode) and other
issues on this PC. So I obtained the SP4 download using Firefox and started
the install wizard. It expanded files and has stopped at the "Updating Your

I have 2 Win2K machines on a p2p lan.
The clocks are off by an hour. I reset them manually, but I have a
startup utility (YATS32) that sets the system clock every day, so I
will be back to the wrong time tomorrow morning.

Strange Win2000 re-installation problem

I am running Win2000, SP4 on a system with NTFS and only scsi HDD, using
