Replacing Win2000 Pro with Win2003 Server

So from what i understand is that you can not upgrade window 2000 pro to xp
home unless it is a clean Install

Need help upgrading 3rd home computer from 2000 to XP

and both are running xp pro with sp2. the new computer came with 2000 pro. i
want to upgrade the new one to xp. how can i do this without the installation
disks from the first two computers? can i just transfer files over the

I'm not clear on which XP I need to buy, the upgrade or a full version. i
see from other posts that in using an upgrade I'll need to insert my Win2k
disk. I have the disk but can't find the product key. Do i need the old key
to use an upgrade version?
