I had Win98 installed. It had become corrupted. I have one physical hard
drive partitioned into two logical drives, C and D. All my data is on D
(logical) drive. I formated C drive to remove corrupt Win98 files. Has my
data been wiped off D drive?

Problems on First Boot

Hi,
I upgraded from Win98 to Win 2000. Upon the initial reboot the system
hangs. Specifically it is hanging on the 2000 splash screen after posting 8
small squares in the progress bar (it looks like there could be 18 or so if
they all displayed). I tried rebooting in safe mode but that does not work

All,
I have just upgrade my DC to window2003 (after a week of preping the domain)
and now ever time it boots it get's to the windows2003 logon screen and
reboots with "SYSTEM SHOUTDOWN ERORR IN lsass.exe error code 1073740972. can
anyone help?

How will users be affected during upgrade?

I am upgrading a Win NT domain to AD (Win 2K), during this upgrade will my
users still be able to access network resources (reboots aside) or do I need
to have log off the network? The PDC's only role is authentication, user
accounts, etc., no printers or files exist on this box.

SP4 Update Rollup 1 fails, 828741 fails

after running a recent MBSA of a Win2k Server that's running Exchange
2000 on it, MBSA complained of an uninstalled patch, and an
uninstalled rollup.
So, try to install the SP4 update rollup first;
"The file comuid.dll is missing from the Update Rollup 1 installation.
The file must be present for Update ...

SP4 - explorer.exe

After installing SP4 - I cannot get past the login on my windows 2000
server. I can login but then I just get a blue screen. I can see that the
explorer.exe is not running and I can't manually start it. Can someone help
