upgrading from windows 98

i have recently upgraded from win98 to win2000 proffessional, before i did
this i placed all my important files ie photos etc in a ' d ' drive.the
upgrade has been fine except it wants to formatt my ' d ' drive. if i formatt

Windows 2000 was installed on a 17 GB Maxtor 91731U4 slave disk. The
