I managed to do the following.
Original Config, 1 Basic Disk, 2 Partitions
------------------
C:\ - ~4gb
D:\ - ~36gb
1) Backup D: to a different disk L:
2) Change Drive Letter of D: to K:
3) Change Drive Letter of L: to D:
4) Tested D: programs, and all worked
5) Now I can delete the old partition ...

I have a Win2k Pro SP4 machine with an AMD processor that's about 4 or 5
years old I think. I'd have to look it up to be sure. The processor is
around 1.2 GHz so it's not fast by today's standards. I'm running Visual Web

How to fix boot failure problem

No DNS Lookup after Hive Recovery

I have restored a recent SYSTEM file from a Hive backup and can get on now
as Administrator. The main problem is there appears to be no DNS lookup
available...
1. I can ping Google OK by its IP address and get to it by IP addres but not
get there by name.

Cannot Log On after a Hive Corruption

The story so far...
1. Had W2K SP4 installed and Ghosted a drive using Norton Ghost.
2. Experienced 2 working disks with W2K on - could boot into either OK; NEW
or OLD.
3. Had a Hive Corruption occur on the NEW disk - "Error Message: Windows

Fax and Dialer not applying international access code

I have just added the Fax option to my system (XP SP2) but it will not
apply the international access code when it sends. It displays the
number as, eg 00 44 123 456789 but dials it as 44 123 456789. It handles
in-country calls correctly. It behaves the same if you get the number

Startup failure after disk repair

Have a Windows 2000 advanced server which had a disk failure. Was able to
repair most of the data, but the system still dosn't boot: The system boots
until the end of the white progress bar (before the GUI) and and then

Hello!
I turned on an old Dell machine yesterday, using Windows 2000 SP4. I
noticed that it was an hour behind. Did I miss an update from MS to fix
this time zone issue since I am in pacific time zone? Or did MS never
release one like for XP? It should had changed automatically as of last
