Add/Remove Programs, REMOVE button disabled

Many programs's remove buttons are disabled after I messed with the
owner name.
How could I re-enable those buttons?

Why must I restart the PC when registry is changed?

Can please somebody explain me why sometimes I must restart the PC when
some registry entry is changed and sometimes change of the registry is
immediately recognized.

I'm writing here because I experiencing the same trouble in a couple of days
with 3 machines .
Starting on Monday, rebooting win2000 machines , system cannot get up:
1 first case, file systemced seems to be corrupted, so a registry restore
is suggested, then original registry loaded and ...

mappoint, vfp in winxp?

we have a vfp app that used to call mappoint.application to (using mappoint
2004 vfp9) for doing some mileage calcs. it was rewritten to use the
mappointcontrol.ocx. it USED to work on my machine. during some testing
the mappoint quit working ...
