When installing a printer my usb001 is broken so I'm trying to use USB002 but
it doesn't come up as a port choice when installing new printer. All I get is
USB001. I need USB002. Any help? ...

Default Printers

When printing to a slected printer on the network (using Server 2000 SP4)
with any program (adobe, Word, etc...) and you close out the program and
reopen to print something else, Windows remembers where it printed last and
ignores the default printer setting. When you reboot, this clears and the

Printer listed but cannot connect

I am having a problem with my XP machines. I have created shares and they
show up in the directory, but when chosen, I get an error that they are not
connected (even though they are). The machines are connecting to the domain
via VPN, XP firewall is off, file and print sharing is checked on both the

The problem that I am having is that I used PrintUI to add printers
globally across a win2000/2003 domain. With that I used the /y flag to
make one of them default on each system. I made an error on one system
and need to change that default printer, but no matter what I try, if I
allow the 'billing' printer ...

I've got 6 Windows 2000 (sp4) print servers here. Four of them are
officially "Highly-Reliable". We only use PostScript and UNIDRV-based
drivers, only version 3 "User Mode" drivers, only Standard TCP/IP ports
and no odd-ball printers (i.e. no inkjets, plotters, multi-function
devices, label writ ...
