HD audio bus drivers - freshly loaded IBM t60/t42 or other

I have run into this issue with both the t42 and t60 laptops from IBM/Lenovo.
When you try to install the audio drivers downloaded from there website you
get a message "The HDA Audio bus driver is required and not found.". They
are not kind enough to point to a location where you can actually download

Windows 2000 won't boot with CD Rom attached?

Has anyone ever seen this? Windows 2000 gets past the Initial Phase and the
Boot Loader Phase. It gets to the Kernel Phase (I believe that's what this
is...it's the Windows 2000 screen with the blue scrolling bar at the bottom
that says Starting Up...) and about 60% of the way through, it hangs...and
stays ...

Why can't 2000 locate nvata.cat on nvidia raid nforce4 card?

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 on a Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI
motherboard to a pair of ATA drives in RAID 0 but halfway through it keeps
saying it can't find the nvata.cat file. This file doesn't seem to exist
on the install disk or the driver disk so where the hell is it?

Recently my father (no internet) has a mysterious problem with his DVD
burner. While burning an audio CD (from his own WAV files) he got an error

I installed a LG GSA-4120B DVDRAM drive on my W2000 system - the
system recognized, W2K recognized and claimed it was installing drivers
then reboot and the DVDRAM is not there.
The event log says: "following boot-start .or system-start drivers
