Since this is a hardware group perhaps there will be someone here with
an answer or idea.
I have an 80G WD800 drive that seems to have had the 12 or 5V buss fail
causing the system power supply to fail to come up to power when turned
on. With that drive removed all works well. The question is that since

moving from RAID 1 to RAID 5

We have a Dell PowerEdge 2800 Win2K SQL Server with 2 x 73gb SCSI hard
drives using RAID 1. We want to install an additional drive in this machine
and upgrade to RAID 5.
We will need to purhcase a new RAID card that can support this as the one we
currently have installed will not support more than two drive ...

HD light on until I open/close DVD door

Hi,
W2KPro, SP4.
My red hd light stays from the time I boot until I open/close the DVD
burner door. It then goes off.
No seemingly related processes show in Task Manager.
What is causing this, and should I be concerned? All else works normally.

Yesterday I was tweaking my win2k machine and disabled a number of unneeded
services.
After several reboots...there were no problems.
When I went to print a document I realized that I had mistakenly disabled
"spooler" so I re-enabled it and all went well
until the next time I rebooted...
I got the message ...

BLUE ERROR SCREEN - "SAYS - BEGINNING DUMP OF PHYSICAL MEMORY

If there is anyone who could help me remedy this error message.
My computer cuts to the Royal Blue Error message screen. Sometimes 2-3
different error messages appear. They all have the same ending message. I

Just been trying it on a Win 2000 laptop and the PC kept 'losing' the
drive in the middle of copying. So I removed the U3 software and
reformatted the drive as FAT32. Seems to have cured the problem.
I guess that auto-launching U3 control panel on drive insertion was
causing the disconnections.
