new child domain in a 2003 forest

I would like to add a new child domain (ex. child.mydomain.com) but I'm
not secure on how to configure the DNS.
The DNS is installed on the parent DC (srv01.mydomain.com), how I mus
setup it to resolve the names of hosts in the child domain?

Reverse DNS problem

I'm hoping somebody can help me. We run to DNS servers on Win 2K3, no AD.
The primary suffered a hardware failure si I reinstalled from scratch
and configured the DNS again. The problem is that reverse DNS seems to
be failing and as a result, we are having a lot of mail rejected.
Here is what I get back ...

W2K DNS Record Time stamp of host record was not be updated, somebody
tell me that the record 's time stamp will be updated automatically
only after aging /scavenging have been enabled. Is that true?

I have Domain on w2k3, and DHCP with exclude numbers above 200
(x.x.x.200 clasic).
I have some workstation that must be fix IP for some reasons.
so when i need to know the name of specific IP, I used to open the DNS,
and see the computer name even of fix IP machines.

Strange Client Domain Resolution Issue

I have a Windows 2000 client machine connected to a Windows 2003 server
via a workgroup. It's ISA server is called "isa", but it keeps
resolving the term to the IP of "isa.edu.au". I have flushed the DNS
Client Resolver Cache with ipconfig with no success. Any suggestions to
what might the problem be?
