DNS + Host File + Gateway Question Win2k Clients

I was having a problem when restarting a Windows 2000 pro machine and
Windows xp pro on a windows 2000 server AD domain. When i restarted
the computers and the "preparing network connections " loaded up it
seem to hang for a few minutes. It turned out to be all the crap i

WINS Error 4202 in Event Viewer

I have been receiving a WINS 4202 error in the System Log for a while now.
The problem is that the remote WINS server referenced is for an IP address
that is not on our network. In fact, I'm not sure if we ever had a server
(or workstation for that matter) at that IP address.

We have an internal domain named mydomain.com
our web site www.mydomain.com is hosted on an external server.
I am unable to ping this domain from teh internal network
Any idea on how to configure our DNS to foraward this request to an external
dns to locate www.mydomain.com

We have an externally hosted web site of the same domain name as our
internal domain.
From inside the firewall, http://www.mydomain.com works as desired and
goes to the external site. However, http://mydomain.com goes to the
internal DC resulting in a "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)".
