Cleaning possible corrupt drivers
Mon, 28 Jul 2008 10:53:02 -0700
Hi. I think I may have corrupt drivers in my system - not the ones in use but
ones that are already somewhere in the system. These drivers are "superior"

failure message. [is there a log where I can see what is failing?]
Is there a uti ...

Following the first phase of booting up my PC I am informed via a msg that
Windows is unable to open unless I get rid of the present password and
replace it with another one. Pressing "enter" does away with the msg and my
name appears on the screen. Clicking on OK opens the PC. How do I get rid of

Ok I know I'm overthinking this one but can anyone tell me what file I should
audit in order to determine if the CD-COM was used for recording or is there
a audit policy madness? Currently I'm auditing execution of the software
used to write to CD but wondered if there was somthing more general I can
audit? ...

Don't Administrators have access to everything?
Sat, 26 Jul 2008 22:03:00 -0700
There are two Administrator accounts on my XP Pro system, and I recently

Documents folder, which the Limited users get access to. I didn't want them
to have access to some folders, so I moved those to another folder under C:\

I have no idea where they came from as I hadn't downloaded anything & hadn't
recieved an email with a link or attachment, and hadn't clicked on any link
in an IM either. The first sign was that my system ran slowly, then I had ...
