Is there any sw that can help me identify WHY that happens?
After logging in, it takes 5-10 minutes to start up the desktop, I can
just see the desktop background image...

Memory Unaccounted For : Memory Leak in Browsers

I have a memory leak I think involves a browser or browser plugin. I know
I've seen it in IE , but possibly other browsers (firefox and chrome). I run
IE7 on Win XP Pro SP3, and am up to date on Microsoft Update. I use a Dell

My external disk/usb keys/other devices do not disconnect any more
Each time I get the message:
The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping
again later
I looked for open handles with procexp (sysinternals) but nothing....
What else could that be? ...

recycle bin corrupted - but on etx drive?

I'm getting this error, but it's on an external HDD! I applied Kellys
Korner's fix, but I think it's only for C:\ drive, so no luck there. Anyone
know a fix?

unable to Defrag w/ Windows defrag or Diskkeeper

When I try to run windows xp home's defrag It tells me it can't run, So I
bought Diskkeeper 2008 and it doesn't even show any volumes. Like my hard
drive doesn't even exist. I tried diskkeeper on another computer and
everything works just fine? I have never been able to run any defrag on this
computer since ...

Due to a virus I had to reinstall windows and therefore lost all my original
drivers, since then I have reinstalled most of them but the onboard sound

Computer gets stuck at welcome screen when i log on

I've been to the manufacturer's web page, unfortunatly the driver that was
available is not supported by XP.
