Display Properties

when brining up display properties for the desktop I had five tabs across the
top. They were -p Themes - Desktop - Screensaver - Appearance - Settings.
Now I only have three of those showing so I can not change or apply
screensavers. It is also missing the Desktop tab so I can do nothing there
either.

Now XP Pro SP2. Intel CPU. What are Pros & Cons re: SP3? Install or not instal?

Intel CPU in a Dell desktop, so no AMD or HP considerations.
If my current OS -- Win XP Pro with SP2 and all the many automatic updates
to that SP -- is functioning normally now, why would anyone install SP3?
What would I gain, and what would I lose?

task bar has no response.

A couple of days ago my task bar stopped working. I can't open anything from
it at all. Trying to see if theres a way to fix this without reinstalling

PC won't read my files from card reader

I use a card reader to download my jpg files from my camera card, and it's
worked great until a couple of weeks ago. Suddently Explorer reports that the
card is not formatted, and suggest to format. I then put the card back in the
camera and connected the camera directly, and then the downloading works just

Amount of memory

I increased my memory from 4GB to 6GB, the systen Intel DG965WH sees 6GB
total memory, but windows only sees 3.24GB. Why????, and how I can correct
it???? ...

The following:
Blue screen appeares and chkdisk starts scanning. The result is: A segment
of the registry of the file 45660 cannot be read. In another try, it also
couldn't read a segment of registry of the file 45661.

registry errors

I just ran a third party scan(I know third party C--P) it showed that I had
82 Reg. errors> 243 missing shared files>1 help file>12 invalid extension
files>28 missing windows shortcuts. Is there any way to correct these or
repair my system?
