Temp files on C drive

read most of the threads relating to deleting temp files, just a bit confused
my system on cdrive/ doc/ settings/ temp bring lists up in groups under
main headings I delete 'temp files' section but under headings 'File' (mainly
etilqs....) and 'XML Documents' (all IMT....) there are an awful lot of
items ...

I have been running windows XP with SP2 and all the updates since 2007 I am
aware that SP3 is now available as a download. Do I need to download this as
not being very comp. literate I am reluctant to alter things that are
running ok i.e. dont tamper if not broken. I would appreciate any helpfull

Hi all. I accidentally check the compress old files in windows native Disk
Cleanup software. Now I have a 20% reduction in my system's performance. Is
there anyway to uncompress my system32 files & gain back my system's
performance without having to format my entire hard drive? Because that is

Windows XP takes a long time to close

It seems since the last time I downloaded Microsoft updates, my laptop is
taking a long time to shut down. sometimes it may take 3 to 4 minutes. Is
there a simple fix or is this common with updates?

Reinstalling WinXP

My 6-year old WinXP Pro desktop has developed some issues. I'm thinking of
reinstalling the OS on a new and larger hard drive and starting fresh. I'm
worried about activation problems when using Microsoft Update after the new
OS install. Am I better off using the WinXP Operating System CD and Drivers

Tabs at top of Ctrl-Alt-Del have disappeared

How do I get direct access onto the taskbar? When I try to drag it from the
desktop (as I did before...) a message appears I cannot do that and the file
(folder) just opens)
