Re: Ethernet connection
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 12:33:45 -0500
Your problem is the 250ft cable
NOT ALLOWED under the ethernet spec
the maximum distance between ethernet devices is 100ft of cable
you are more than twice the limit for the length of cable
you may however use 100ft straight through cable to a switch, then plug

Windows XP Networking Issues. Unable to connect to C Share (C$)
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 06:56:00 -0700

ICS and firewall DNS rules (FYI)
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 15:08:26 +1000
I've just found out that Tall Emu Online Armor will by default block UDP
port 53 on an ICS gateway machine.
This means that any users of OA MUST create an outgoing UDP port 53
permit rule in order to correctly get DNS responses.
And because of the way the service pack updates work, OA may disable
that ru ...

How to bypass the SP update timeouts?
Thu, 28 Aug 2008 15:01:02 +1000
