Shoud I give it away along a 17" Trinitron monitor and my Dell Pentium 4 1.3 GHz 256 MB Desktop w/ 40 GB hard drive installed with XP pro - all in excellent shape - to someone in exchange for a vacuum cleaner service that turned out to be the plug issue (prongs was not connecting anymore)? ...

Track Playback Time Question     Tue, 1 Jul 2008 09:31:13 -0700
How do I make it so that when I start to play a song/other media file, the time at the bottom of Windows Media Player starts at 0:00 instead of counting down from the time given (i.e. 3:42, 3:41, etc.)? It randomly changed itself for no reason yesterday, and I haven't found how to change it back. ...

Re: no sound coming from speakers     Mon, 23 Jun 2008 08:16:39 +0530
thanks Jerry. I've tried that one. Anyhow, I found out that the real reason why the sound card is greyed out -- it's because all the system drivers (in the Services) were disabled. I don't know how it happened but turning them all manually failed for some reason -- not until I used my back up of the registry f ...

The death of Hi-Fi     Fri, 20 Jun 2008 18:29:50 -0400
This may not be the right place for this but what the hell...it's a public newsgroup. As someone who has listened to much live music and has collected vinyl and cd's for many years, I have tried in vain to get use to compressed, digitized, computerized music. I have a decent stereo system at home and I own t ...

Sound issues     Fri, 20 Jun 2008 09:18:23 -0700
I recently installed Windows Vista on my HP laptop which previously had XP. Not sure if this has anything to do with this or not but any music played starts normally and then begins slowing down, distorting and crackling. Anyone have an answer? ...

Tags are jumbled, Is there a way to re-tag?     Thu, 19 Jun 2008 03:33:01 -0700
I recently syncronised my media with a new portable media device (ARCHOS 605 wifi). Since synchronising every track in my library has the wrong title. The album information is still correct. My library contains thousands of tracks manualy changing the tags would take a long time and i do not even know the ti ...

Re: Downloading music from Internet radio     Wed, 18 Jun 2008 16:11:01 -0700

If I use the links in web pages to play streaming audio files, even through MS Media Player, they don't record. I am trying to record a conc ...

Adding music to my Windows media library and Media center 2005     Wed, 18 Jun 2008 11:24:01 -0700
I attempted to get rid of my duplicate music files and in doing so all my music has been inadvertently deleted from my music library. The music is still in my Document Folder but for some reason when I try to add songs to my Media Player and to my Media Center 2005 I get a message that these songs cannot be ...
