Remove Windows Messenger

Somehow, in the process of changing identities. I wound up signing in to
Windows Messenger./ It is a real nuisance, pop ups and all.
How can I get this worm out of my comp? Guess I'm not surprised it doesn't
appear in CP/Add or Remove Programs

We already tried that she deleted me from her friends list and after that
adding again.
But this didn't work..

Friends cannot see me on MS LifeCam Cinema

Friends cannot see me during a Video Call initiated through WLM. I can see
them though.
Also, the option to choose to start the webcam instead of a Video Call is
greyed out when I click the camera icon in WLM.
My OS is Win XP SP3 with all the patches installed. I am also using IE8 with
default settings ...
