Can default shutdown option be changed?

When I press the Windows key followed by U for shut down, is there any
way of changing which is the default option? I think it is hibernate,
and I would like it to be Shut Down.
(I know I can shut down with Win, U, U; I would like to be able to use
Win, U, Enter, as I do with Win98. Trivial, just wondered i ...

Is there a way of preventing a user shutting down an XP Pro PC, but only
before a certain time of day?
Failing that, is there a way of making the shutdown button generate an alert
warning the user that he/she is shutting the PC down too early and must
restart it? ...

migrating old XP install to new XP64 on same disc

Hi,
Does anyone know how to migrate old installs when on the same disc. The
standard method assumes that the old system is still available and running.
In my case, the CPU went into thermal runnaway and hung the system. Since it
was an older CPU replacing it was not economical. So I upgraded to an Asus

Where set display style for float

Hello NG,
I use XP in Germany. We have float values with komma, not point, e.g. 15,5
instead of 15.5
On my computer I see the english style. On another computer the german
style.
Where can I set this in windows configuration?

Installing solitaire game capability

Somehow while I was deleting unwanted programs from my hard drive, I
inadvertently deleted my whole Games program from my computer, and I was
unable to re-install it, since I have no idea what happened to it. I click
Programs on my startup menu, but when I click Games, it says "Empty". I

Security Difference XP/PRO vs XP/HOME
