Desktop not loading

I will try to keep this brief, XP Home, after selecting user in normal mode,
goes to blank desktop, no taskbar no nothing, have to use taskmanager to get
out. Have reloaded in Safe Mode, desktop loads as does taskbar and tray, I
can select items to open but they do not open.

Windows XP Home Edition registry backup

Hello,
I used "Windows Registry Backup and Restore Guided Help" to backup the
entire registry into a backup file - RegBack.bkf.
This file can be restored using Windows Backup/Restore. However, the XP Home
edition prohibits the use of Backup/Restore.
So how do I restore the registry???

Installed Language Pack - chinese characters showing up on some pr

Installed language pack some time back for supporting an international
customer.
For one I can't get IE->Options->Fonts->Language Script to keep Latin based.
It goes back to Chinese Traditional. Is there a registry setting or some
way to force this? I changed the Encoding to Western-ISO.

Only use local profiles on some PCs

Normaly we have roaming profiles but
I have a few Windows XP PCs where i want only allow local profiles.
I know there is a Group Policy, but i dont want use that.
instead is there a registry key or something es where i can set the PC to
use local Profiles only?
