New Computer Boots Very Slowly..

very good information and I have built my super computer but it boots
like a pooper computer.

Moved files to CD, now gone?!

Moved a number of document files to a CD-R to re-install in new computer.
Went through CD Wizard - all files transferred OK according to wizard.
Placed CD in to confirm list of files - nothing! Not one single folder is
isted on the CD. The folders are gone from "My Documents" Are they lost
forever? ...

What is the difference between creating a backup image of my disk, and
cloning it?
If you cloned it, wouldn't that make the backup drive a new drive C?

I don't allow Windows to do Automatic Update
because experience has taught me that some of them
are undesirable for one reason or another.
So when I use the Custom mode, to let it show me so
that I can select, it searches and searches and
sometimes after maybe 10 minutes I interrupt and decide
to try it agai ...

Hello,
My dvd burner is exactly the same model as my friend does, at least it is
what Device Manager says:
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B
However,
on my computer the driver for it is provided by Pinnacle Systems GmbH,
but on my friend computer it is provided by Microsoft.
Why is that difference in driver provider ...
