recenty I upgraded windows Me to xp and response to a page or any activity
is extremely slow. I have tried many things ad deleting temp files and
cookies and that didn't work, deleting an antivirus and that did't do the
job. is there something i can do to make this work.

why does Remote Desktop Connection work with an IP address and not the name of the PC?

I have no problem connecting to a PC on my network by its IP address, but if
I try and use its name, the connection fails.
The firewall is off on the PC I'm trying to connect to.
It's a member of the domain.
I use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to numerous other PC's on my
network and have no problem. ...

drive scrubber help

called disk scrubber wiped everything out. Installed orignal cd recovery

setting up guest accounts

If I set up a guest account in xp, will the user be able to install
software, either from an internet download or a software disk? Is there
anything special to set besides activating the guest account?

Widescreen monitor question

Replaced 15" flatscreen with a 19" widepanel (Dell - instructions are
useless - spent an hour on chat - no joy.) My original desktop photo
appears as slightly distorted horizontally (stretch), or only the center
portion (center) (Even worse in 'tile")
Is there any way to get this photo to fit the screen?

Administrator Access

I am having a problem installing and using the nero 7 appllication of an
external DVD rewriter. The computer will not let me install it as it says i
need to see my administrator as access is restricted.
My question is how do i log on as the administrator? on the start up page
there are only two users, myself ...

NOT DETECTING DISC?

EVERYTIME I INSERT A DISC BLANK,AUDIO,MOVIE OR OTHERWISE INTO THE CD DRIVE IT

Deleting Print Jobs

Whenever I try to cancel or delete a print job from the printer console in
Control Panel, it either takes forever or, as now, it never cancels. This
has been a problem with every version of Windows I have used. I'm currently
using XP Pro. Does anyone have a suggestion for doing this?
