Language: Server collation (Latin) differs
Mon, 23 Jun 2008 04:42:00 -0700
Hi,
My CRM 4.0 UI default language is other than English and it displays OK.
However, when I try to import or export data I get "gibrish" chars (so I
have to
copy paste data from csv to CRM).
The SQL Server collation is Latin, whereas the CRM server collation is
another language (other than Hebrew).

CRM4 on SQL 2008
Mon, 23 Jun 2008 10:27:10 +0100
It seems that CRM4 doesn't support SQL 2008 out of the box since it doesn't
find the service MSFTESQL, which has been deprecated on SQL 2008.
I did some digging and I read about some (possible) whitepaper from
Microsoft which explains how to install CRM4 on SQL 2008. I wonder if this
is really possible and ...

Creating parent/child relationships
Fri, 20 Jun 2008 08:35:02 -0700
So I know it wasn't possible in CRM3 to create self-referencing relationships
for parent/child hierarchies, but I thought this was going to be available in
CRM4. However, when I try to create the relationship in CRM4 between a table
and itself, I get an error. Such a relationship exists for the "subject"

CRM4: Can you disable System Jobs?
Fri, 20 Jun 2008 07:58:04 -0700
In CRM3, the UpdateContractState was a stored proc that got called by the SQL
Server Agent. In CRM4, it's a System Job. We don't want to automatically
change the state of a contract when it passes it's expiration date, so in
CRM3 we simply disabled job in SQL Server Agent.
I'm wonder how can disable this S ...

CRM 4.0 Best Practice - Dev, Test, and Prod
Thu, 19 Jun 2008 13:11:01 -0700
Are there any documented best practices for setting up development, test, and
production instances of CRM 4.0 Enterprise? We are already planning to use
virtual servers (if necessary) for Dev and Test, but do not want to use
separate SQL Servers for each if at all possible.
Can we do each as a separate Org ...

Backing up customisations automatically
Thu, 19 Jun 2008 08:32:01 -0700
We have released a deployment to a client that wishes to make small
cusomtisations every now and then. Although we have made it clear that
exporting the previous customisations is important, we were hoping there is
something out there that we could implement (just in case :p)
Has anyone come across a way to ...
