Hello!
One of our users encounter this error while creating new notify alerts from
a custom list where he needed to be notified for any changes done on items
shown in a custom list view.
The user sees the following error on the page after hitting "OK"

I am using BDC profile import. While BDC profile import is in progress, if i start crawling parallelly, the time taken for BDC profile import is increased drastically..
If anyone knows how to overcome this issue, my snenerio is to initiate Profile Import and Crawling and reduce the time duration for BDC import..

SharePoint 2007 support for creating new Visio documents?

I've created a new Content Type and uploaded a Visio document to SharePoint
2007.
When I try to create a new Visio document I'm getting an error: "the
document cannot be created..".
I have no problems when editing a Visio document that's already uploaded to
SharePoint.

Not quite the same... but I'm having a similar issue.
I AM a Java Portal Developer ... trying to make a transition into .NET Sharepoint.
From what I've read so far... Sharepoint web parts are the equivalent to portlets... but I don't think they're architecturally designed to work the same way.
