Exchange 2K3 Volume shadow backup

If you use the Volume shadow backup method to backup Exchange 2K3 on W2K3
does this negate the need to perform normal on-line IS backups. i.e. Are the
Transaction logs truncated?

Public folder replicas

Hello,
We have installed a new Exchange 2003 server in our Exchange installation
which have 2 other Exchange 2000 servers.
We have now move all users from one Exchange 2000 server to the new
Exchange 2003 server.
Do we need to setup a replica on the system public folders like "schedule+
free/busy folder " ...

URLScan with Exchange Cluster??

We have an Exchange 2003 Cluster in Active/Passive configuration without any
FE servers.
Therefore, users have to connect directly to the exchange virtual server to
use OWA.
Here comes the question, can I install URLScan to the exchange nodes?

smtp service fails to start on windows 2003 startup

I seem to have a problem with the smtp service not starting up automatically
when the server reboots. This server is running Windows 2003 /w SP2 and
Exchange 2003 with SP2.
If I go under services I see the smtp service not started, if I click on

Help ! Db size exagerated and log files generation during maintein

The total size of the mailbox users folders, checked through ESM, is about
250 MB.
The size of priv1.edb is about 9 GB !!!!
