mode with Exchange 55 and in a Windows 2000 domain… I need to migrate t ...

mailing list
Fri, 2 Sep 2005 05:57:54 -0400
I setup up a distribution group in active directory with an exchange email

I added a contact with a remote email address in AD and added the contact to
the DG.
When I send email to the DG it appears as if exchange is attempting to
deliver the mail locally even though the contact has a remote address

Mon, 29 Aug 2005 13:47:59 -0700

2003, the address book used is the offline address book, also I believe that
outlook checks and updates the offline address book every 24 hours. This to
me would mean that when I rename an account on exchange each of my cached

I have been working with Exchange Servers for 8 years. Currently I was

selected ONE user, deleted it as I always have in the past. I am positive
nothing else was highlighted. I then noticed all users were gone 1500 of
them, b ...

Upgrading Active Directory on Windows 2000
Thu, 25 Aug 2005 15:04:09 -0400
I am working on an Exchange migration project. The entire network is at
Windows 2K/SP4 and Exchange 2K/SP3. One of the first steps in the project
plan is to update Active Directory to 2003. Can this be done on Windows
2000 or is it mandatory to upgrade to OS to Windows 2003 Server as well? I
am pretty su ...

Unable to view mailbox store when connected to 2003 domain control
Thu, 25 Aug 2005 07:59:04 -0700
I recently installed a couple of 2003 servers as DC's. I moved all the
primary roles to one of the controllers. When connected to the 2003 PDC with
AD Users and Computers, it does not display the mailbox stores when trying to
create a new user and mailbox. If I connect to the old 2000 DC, I have no
