Migrating from 2000 to 2008 via 2005
Sun, 30 Aug 2009 08:36:01 -0700
Any help appreciated. I have a database created in SQL 2000 that is being
managed in SQL 2005. I need to copy it from the 2005 instance to a 2008
instance (different server on a different domain). I have successfully moved
two other databases (which were created natively in 2005) from the 2005
instance to 20 ...

Re: Installing SQL Client Tools

The full tools are not free and so you cannot just download them (unless you
install the evaluation edition, but then they are only "free" for the length

Thu, 27 Aug 2009 11:58:32 -0700
I am working with SQL 2005 Developer edition and love everything. We are
getting ready to replace the SQL 2000 server with SQL 2005. Will it just
install over the present server and upgrade everything including the data?
Yes, I do plan to run full backups on everything.

Mon, 24 Aug 2009 21:04:19 GMT

BIDS Query Designer very slow in VS 2008
Wed, 12 Aug 2009 14:24:05 -0700 (PDT)
I am in the process of upgrading my Report Server projects from 2005
to 2008. These reports use an Analysis Services data source and have
queries that are anywhere from 20 to 100 lines of MDX. After
upgrading a report, when I open or save a dataset in the Query
Designer, it takes up to 20 seconds. In 2005, th ...
