I am trying to clear up some confusion (on my part) concerning the SQL 2005
patch for MS08-040... Is SQL2K5 SP1 affected by this vulnerability?

Hi,
Idealy I want to grant helpdesk group "reset password" for sql logins
permission only. Is this possible? Do I have to add them to securityadmin
which can grant, deny etc?

xp_cmdshell no longer allowing remote access

We have a SQL 2005 database on Windows Server 2003 being accessed through
IIS.
We execute a script using the "Exec xp_cmdshell TheScript" command from a
web page.

unable to change db owner

On my box I have Sql Server 2005 installed in mixed-mode.
I created a db and by default ( I assume ) it's owner is set to my logged-on
(local) Windows user.
I backup the db and successfully restore it onto another box with another
instance of Sql Server 2005. ( 64bit but I don't think this matters ).
