"varbinary(max)" data type is returning as "image" in MS SQL 2005

I have defined the column as "varbinary(max)" in SQL server 2005. When I
tried to get the metadata using MS SQL server 2005 driver Version 1.0. I am
getting the column type as "image" and not "varbinary(max)". Is this bug in
driver?

Problem with JDBC -- Eating up Ports/Processes!

We are using JDBC to connect to a SQL Server 2000 database using JDBC.
We're having an odd problem, and I cannot find anybody else who is
having this issue. The application server machine (WAS 6.0) is eating
up ports and generating SQL Server processes like there is no tomorrow.

We are using jdbc connection to a sql server database and performing as part
of the query :
SELECT "Alter morada PTR1?" FROM dbo.[Alterações Ccts Dedicados].
But we are receiving the error

I get this error when I try to execute "rs.isLast())" method from WSAD 5.1.2
base_v5 library. I am currently using SQL Server 7.0. I want to know if
