using rank in fulltext

I'm new on FullText Search.
I need this in order to find part of words on 3 of my columns in table
(Table1(Txt1, Txt2, Txt3)
I've discovered the function CONTAINSTABLE(...) which brings me rank of
find.
what is the logical of ranks?

I have a large number of word documents (.doc files) with different layouts
and contents where I need to extract some data to populate a database. The
documents are invoices. In the documents I would like to search for words

How can I add full-text-search features on this [Story] for different language?

Reporting Services and I'm having trouble dealing with NULL, which creates a
"Null or empty full-text predicate." error.
