Transport-level errors occur after adding new IP address

We get this when we add IP addresses to the Windows system when SQL 2005
database activity is on-going:
"Database error: A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results
from the server. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout
period has expired.)"

Open Query Linked Server Problem

Connect from one box but not another

development box I can connect to the server with no problem. From the
