Configure Surface Area - can't connect to Virtual Server

SQL 2k5 on Win 2k3, all fully patched. CLustering is enabled and working, but
when I attempt to log on to the CSA app, I cannot change to the virtual
server name, when I enter the name (FQDN, simple name) i get the error:
Computer xxxx does not exist on the network, or the computer cannot be

I am new. I get a similar error (below)
We also have a clustered server.
SELECT * FROM sysmail_allitems
and I get 3 entires for the e-mails I tried to sent.
The field, status=UNSENT
Any idea how to fix this ?
