Quick and easy question.
What is the proper procedure to shutdown a 4 node active SQL cluster. I
need to bring the servers down for disaster recovery testing. Should I
failover resources from all nodes to one and then shutdown those nodes and
then shutdown the last server? Or should I pause the each node ...

Hi,
I am trying to apply the new security update for sql server 2005. I have a
2-node active/passive cluster. How do I go about it? Should I take the
cluster down and apply it one node at a time to both nodes?

Moving system datbases on cluster

I am just determining the necessary steps to move the system datbases that I
have on an Active/Passive cluster. I found the process to do this on a
standalone SQL Server.
What I don't know how to do is start SQL Server with the /f and /T3608. In
the process I have found it says you can just use NET START ...

Network load-balancing for active-active clusters

Hi,
I have a requirements to deploy SQL 2005 clustering as active/active nodes.
We also want to achieve load-balancing. For example, when there are 100 users
login to the clusters SQL, the request will split 50 / 50 to each of the sql
active node. Can it work in this way?

Hi,
i understand that the technology for clustering are N+1 or N+m. However, Can
1 deploy sql cluster nodes in odd numbers? Example, 3 nodes with
active/active/passive or 5 nodes with 3 active/2 passive ??

SQL 2005 and Win2008 Multi-subnet clustering

Details:
2-node Win2008 Ent. Cluster with multiple subnets. Able to successfully fail
back and forth no problem with one subnet coming online at one node and the
other coming online at the other node.
Install SQL 2005 Ent. and it won't come online with the non-active subnet
configur ...
