Images won't show on working slide but do show on thumbnail

In PPT, I can insert an image and it appears on the thumbnail in the
taskpane, but the image will not appear on the slide. If I click on where I
think it should be on the working slide, I cand see the "frame" dots, but not
the image. I have tried changing the order of the image but with no luck.

I put in a text in the slide and, without powerpoint asking me if I want
that, and without any clue how to undo it, it indents like this:

Import Excel Data in PP 2007

I have a chart in PP 2007 and I want to import data from Excel to eplace the
data that's already there. In 2003 I could go to the Import Data button and
do it that way. Is there a way to the same in PP2007?

Power Point 2007 allows us to save .gif files. But my question is, how do i save the pictures created in powerpoint with the animations as JPEG/GIF. and the animation still remains??

Here's my problem:
I take hours creating an architecture blue print/flow chart and my boss
doesn't approve some of the colors in the legend. At times there are atleast
20-30 objects with that color and it takes me AGES to change the color( to be
told that i need to change the color yet again). Its a very subo ...
