powerpoint won't let me link to images

I am trying to link to jpeg and wmf files in my powerpoint. I've tried
linking on the network drive, and also moving entire image directory
and powerpoint file to my C drive. Each time I try to "link" to the
file when inserting as an object, I get a message: It isn't possible

PPT 2003: Any Arial Black text is alwyas italicised - help!

I have a PPT 2003 user whose system is all of a sudden unable to display
Arial Black regular text - it always italicises it. This does NOT happen in
Word and other Office programs - only PowerPoint.
We have reinstalled the .ttf and .otf font files for Arial Black, but to no

We've been putting video into PowerPoint since before you could put video in
PowerPoint. Most of the time, it works great. Recently we ran into a
client computer that just won't play it.
I have always thought that the conventional wisdom is that video in
PowerPoint is played by the MCI ...

Editting animations

I expect this is old ground but I'm hoping for an answer to this common issue.
I have a complex slide with grouped objects and animation. I need to edit
one of the grouped objects and of course when you ungroup, the animation
effects are removed. Any workarounds that anyone knows about?

Hi Steve,
That did the trick, perfect, I had again to swap the width with the length
but this time print preview was exactly the distiller PDF image file, I used
a dummy HP DesignJet 3500CP PS3 driver that had the custom page size option.
My only remark is that PDF still draws boxes around the text boxes if ...
