Stop New Mail Desktop Alert For Good?

Hi I am running an exchange 2003 server on the network. I log into one pc
with my profile and disable New Mail Desktop Alert, however if then I logg
onto a different pc the New Mail Desktop Alert is still active (other outlook
preferences seem to follow me around)
Is there anyway to synchronise this alert s ...

old folders/messages missing after upgrade to 2007

I recently upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and now all of my old messages and
folders are gone. I can't find them anywhere on my computer. Am I correct
in the thinking that everything got overwritten and I am screwed? At least I
had my contacts backed up on Plaxo. ...

I have a brand new business that is have a business e-mail set up for through
Yahoo!. I tried using the same e-mail address for Outlook 2007, but the
message "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available" pops
up when i try to set it up. I'm guessing that it's telling me that i can't

someone knows if is it possible to download the mail to pst files but leave
a copy on the server? Similar than POP3...
I think the most similar function are OST files.
