remove unwanted, corrupt archive.pst file?

My Outlook 2003 has an archive.pst file that is too large and it is corrupt.
It cannot be opened because of errors. Scanpst.exe cannot repair it. There
is nothing in it that I want to see or save. I want to delete it. I want to
create a new, empty archive.pst file. But when I delete it, Outlook cannot

Open Message w/ Attachment Causes Freeze

Outlook 2003 / Exchange 2003, when you open a message that has attachment(s),
Outlook freezes. Note, it happens before you try to open the attachment,
