Workgroup weird problems

Hi
I have and Access 2000 front and backend which was created under the
corresponding workgroup for this project.
When i click my shortcut for this project it correctly loads up the
workgroup prompting for a user and password.

i.e. did not ask that it be encrypted or anything. So, as far as I know, it
did not create an MDE file. Now, when I open it in Access 2000 it asks for a

Having never used Access security features, I backed my DB up to have one
free for tinkering. However, when I used the security wizard, the resulting
security applied to my back up copy. The problem I have is that the admin

Trusted Network Shares in Access 2007

When establishing a "trusted location" in Access 2007, there's a setting
called "Allow Trusted Locations not on the computer" that you must select if
the trusted path is a network share.
I assume selecting this option sets something in the Windows registry.

Shortcut does not join secure workgroup

I've made a shortcut from the desktop to join a secure workgroup and start
Access for only one session. However, when checking the current workgroup, I
see that I still joined the standard and insecure system.mdw.
