Minimum Level of Security for the Back End
Mon, 31 Mar 2008 08:50:00 -0700
We have a database that tracks instructors, courses, class schedules and
attendance. It started out as one .mdb and then I split it into a front and
back end. The back end resides on the Network server while the team members
[5] access the front end via their local â??Câ? drive. Everyone uses a shared

(created in Access 2003) so as not to ruin or corrupt the data I simply
copied the database to another location and renamed it. I began working with
the User and Permission option in Access 2007, setting up users/groups with

I just upgraded to 2007 from 2003. I am attempting to use the package wizard
to create an install cd for my database. First off, the database was split

Join workgroup 2007
Wed, 26 Mar 2008 07:21:42 -0700
How the heck do you join a workgroup in 2007? I just upgraded and it tells
me that I don't have permission to access my own security.mdw file. I am the
creator/owner of all associated files with our database as it is still under
construction. I added myself to the users list etc., but I don't see how
that ...

MDE access2003 vs 2002
Wed, 26 Mar 2008 08:06:40 GMT
We upgraded to Access2003 from Access2002.
I created an mde but now, after entering user name and password, the screen
has the window with the forms, reports, queries... Even though the forms and
reports are not available in design mode, this was not happening in Access
2002.
Also, if I get out of the wi ...
