Requirement to Save As When Opening a Database

when we open a saved database, it requires us to Save As with a number
automatically added to the end of the name. Any ideas on why and how to avoid

Synchronizing with a Macro

I have attempted to build a macro that runs the command... "SynchronizeNow".
But this command does not complete the sychronization. It initiates but does
not give me a status bar or message that it syncs. When using the toolbar,
Tools, Relication, Synchronize Now... method this completes the task.

I am a rooky Access user. I create a pretty basic database for others to use
at work. I was trying to lock it down so it couldn't be damaged. In the

in 2003, we used vb code to lock out our mde file so that users could have a
form with multiple search options, but not browse the tables at all. In
converting the forms to 2007, we can't figure out how to lock out the tables
anymore. Is there some documentation somewhere on how to allow access to

Replicating tables to users

I am deploying a switchboard to my replicating users. The switchboard shows
up in their form objects, but the table does not replicate.
How can I pick and chose tables, queries, & forms to either replicate or
not? Is this possible or is there a better, more organized way of doing this?

I plan to setup password to protect my data.
Should I have passoword for FE and BE?
If i have both password should I have connection string with passowrd or Jet
engine will take care of this?
