'System DSN' vs. 'File DSN'
Fri, 2 Sep 2005 07:21:02 -0700
In our company programmers always use 'System DSN' iso 'File DSN'.

It seems to mee that File DSN is easier to use since you don't have to add a
System DSN to each computer where an application runs on?
Or am I missing something? ...

ODBC in Windows XP Pro 64 bits
Thu, 1 Sep 2005 11:07:05 -0700
I am using a trial version of Win 64 bits with great pleasure and

Access and SQL 2000 Server.
1. It's there but does not open like Win XP 32 bits as if there's no 64
bits driver yet. I do find this odd since there is a Windows ...

ODBC Connection Failed
Thu, 25 Aug 2005 10:36:07 -0400
So far, I'm the only one experiencing this problem... we use Access mdb
files that link back to an Informix server with the Intersolv ODBC
drivers... I log into Access (yes, we use the workgroup file), and when
opening a database that looks to the Informix server, I get the following
error message:

SQL Cluster Aware Access Application
Wed, 24 Aug 2005 13:00:46 -0400
I was recently asked to create an Access database (front-end) to link to an
SQL server.
The SQL administrator stated that all applications using the server must be
"Cluster Aware". I've heard the term and have a basic understanding (I
think) of what that means. What I don't know (yet) is whether this ca ...

secure socket layer
Tue, 23 Aug 2005 14:27:23 -0400
Can an MSAccess adp connect to a SQL Server instance which is behind a
firewall, using secure socket layer?
Is there anything I need to bear in mind when preparing for this?
Are there any references which would give me some details about doing this?
I couldn't find anything in Google.
Thanks!
Bill
