DSUMs Causing Slow Response from Split Database
Tue, 11 Mar 2008 15:59:55 -0700 (PDT)
All,
I recently split my first database application into a front end/back
end server application for distributed users to get out of managing
the day to day data entry and to focus on more productive activities.
All appears to be working as intended with one very major exception.
It appears that any queries ( ...

located on a Server. I have changed the old server (Windows NT 4) to a new

Multiuser Increment Field
Mon, 18 Feb 2008 09:28:00 GMT

I have a form with an increment field. I used DCOUNT function of SerNo (that
is an Autonumber field) and I add 1, On current event and it works if a
single user works in that form. If a ...

Multiuser front-end - multiple backend
Fri, 15 Feb 2008 21:17:56 +1100
I have a single Access 97 front-end, and multiple back-ends. When a user
(AF) opens the front-end, they select which back-end (AB) they want, and the
tables are relinked. All works perfectly fine when there's a single user.
A second user (BF) comes along and opens a different back-end (BB). There
are now so ...

multiple databases
Sun, 10 Feb 2008 15:54:39 GMT
Hi there, I'm just wondering if I'm on the right track here. I'm in a
networked environment that has a multi-user Access database used for time-
entry that has usernames/passwords. I want to create a second database, also
multiuser, to manage workorders. The two database are unrelated and I'd
rather not try c ...

How to check if the current record is locked
Fri, 8 Feb 2008 12:42:03 -0800
In Form_Dirty, how can I check if the current record is locked? The form has
RecordLocks set to 2 (Edited Record) and Record-Level locking is enabled.
The record selector symbol properly indicates when a record is locked, but I
have not been able to determine how to programmatically check if the record
is ...
