I have an access mdb with ODBC links to a SQL table on a remote server. I
can update records in the SQL table by just typing. I also wrote some
update queries using joins between local table and the SQL table. Works OK

I have a shared db on the network. How can I determine if anyone is in the
db, and their Network ID. When I need to perform maintenance on the db, I
want to make sure that noone is in it. And if someone is it, I need to
identify who they are so that I can contact them.

Hi there,
My Access client program is running in multi-user enviroment. Some user has
Windows XP with no rights to write to C:\Program Files folder.
There is no way to change user rights. (Company policy)
But the Access runtime (aka AccessRT), (what needs on machines doesn't have
Office) always want to use ...
