Mon, 05 Mar 2007 20:49:22 -0800
I just created a database (split into FE and BE mdbs with user level
security) for a non-profit. They have several "departments" and each
department is going to want to create their own custom queries and
reports. I hid most of the tables and working queries (just by setting
them as hidden objects) and cre ...

Mon, 5 Mar 2007 11:14:20 -0800
Using Office 2003 and Windows XP;
I have a split DB and I set a DB Password on the BE; I then opened the FE

Hello Group,
I'm using Tony Toews AutoFEupdater on a Terminal Server - Server (Windows

Still having trouble with write error and record locking
Thu, 01 Mar 2007 06:56:07 GMT
I've set up a little test. I have split a copy of my database, and copied
the front end to each of two adjacent computers. I've logged into both
machines, so as far as the back end is concerned, I'm two different users.
No matter how I set the lock on the forms and the queries, there is no "lock"
effect: I c ...

network, when there is 2 or more working at the same time it is as slow as a
snail. Some records are modified and some are new. To speed things up I
could have a BE on each machine but then I would need to import the modified
records an ...
