Can't make a shared database

This is my first attempt at sharing. I have Access 2003 installed on a
laptop and on a desktop with a wireless connection. My application is on the
laptop, and I have it set to shared and with no locks and record level

MS Access locking Mechanism

I have one mdb on the server and accessed by many clients mdb application.
I would like to know how MS Access handle locking mechanism?
If 2 users access one table at same time, does access lock the table and
avoid user to over write each other?

I have an access (access 97) database that consist of data for labels. These
data are via an external program mixed with the label layout and thereafter
printed on labels.
