Cannot open any more databases and splitting databases

I understand it is a best practice in a multi-user environment to split your
database into a front-end and a back-end.
However, from my experience and from many others I've seen online, doing so

Calculate days in a month

for that year (keeping Leap year in mind).

2007 Application problem on network laptops only!

I have a split application with data on a network server and app on users
system. Created an install package for the front end to include RT 2007.
Installed on all network desktop PCs and network Laptops. On the desktops
everything works great. On the laptops, not so much.
