ODBC Data errors in Access 2007

I opened an access 2000 mdb (that accesses SQL Server 2005 data) in my new
access 2007 (SP1 - 64 bit) and I am having 2 problems.
First off, I cannot use Linked table manager to update my connection to the
SQL server. I get a message saying ODBC call failed even when I select Prompt

Excel is creating unwanted â??backup of*â?? files for me. My research indicates
that this behavior is a result of selecting of AutoRecover. I want/need auto
recovery, I am regularly receiving errors that kill my Excel session (I

Import Access query to formatted excel 2007 spreadsheet

In older versions of Excel, you could import an Access query into Excel and
it would assume the column width specified in the Excel spreadsheet. It would
also give you the option of not importing the column headings. How can you do
that with Access 2007 and Excel 2007

import from a spreadsheet. I had used the FileImport command in the
Switchboard Manager. However, now it doesn't work in 2007. What is the new

I would like to set up a process whereby i can choose where each field of
the imported text file goes in a template table.
i.e. i would like a prompt in the import process requesting me to enter the
destination field for each field in the text file to be imported?

Number Formating

When I use the following script to export a table to a CSV file I loose some
formating. There is one filed that is formated as SINGLE, Fixed, 5 dec.

I am trying to import, or should say read, an excelarc to later work
wiht it for my accessDB. but this ends up in just a mess, i.e when I
look at the variable strSQLImport it's not even readable. Anyone knows
