TS or Citrix, can one open file on local pc?

I was asked if it's possible to open a file on a local pc from a TS or
Citrix session. The notion is, some applications would be on the server
and files associated with them (say a .doc) could be opened on the
server; but some files would need to be opened by a program on a local
pc. I'm not sure how this ...

Does any one have an idea how to prevent the error "-2147467259: The databse
heas been placed in a state by user Admin on machine <name> that prevents it
from being opened or locked" ?

No problem with the package until recently. When I try to load a program on
