Can't open file in Excel (or Word)

All of the sudden I cannot open an Excel file (or Word document). Also,
Internet Explorer stopped working but I was able to reset it back to original
settings and it works again.
When I try to open an Excel file I get the box that says "Miscrosoft Excel

Margins Do Not Fit Page Size

I'm using Excel 2003. I adjusted the page size of a worksheet to 11x17.
Inserted some page breaks and then printed the worksheet. It worked

Unable to edit worksheet - continuous scrolling

I've had this issue several times, where I'm working with a spreadsheet, and
it gets 'stuck' in scroll mode. I can't edit any of the cells, or enter new
ones, or even get to the menu to close the document.
I'm using Excel 2003. Any ideas? ...
