So ... here's a strange (and VERY devastating) event.

HELP-an unrecognizable format

I have been using windows xp & now I had to buy a computer with Vista
(terrible). My problem is that an excel file that I am trying to open is
unrecognizable in Vista (I guess). All my other files open no problem,
but of course the file I really need doesn't-what can I do now?

Saving macro buttons on a network

excel 2003: inserted word document object loses header/footer

I have experimented with a number of different combinations of file formats
and it seems to be hit and miss. As a general rule, I never use the 2007 file
format because of backwards incompatibility with those I share my files with.
So I find it difficult to believe that it is "obviously" the source of the ...

My co-worker and I are both using Excel 2007 on XP. Occasionally a file that
he saves will fail to open on his PC. I am also unable to open that
particular file on my system. There is no error message when opening the
